The Far North is set to see a large increase in new police officers following the Government's promise of 1800 new cops over the next three years.
Northland will get 87 new police officers, a 25 percent increase.
Far North mayor, John Carter, told Mike Hosking it will make a noticeable change.
"This will make a hell of difference to us, to be quite honest."
"It is going to be significant for us particularly as we address the P epidemic."
