Power Rack Training Volume Four-Eric Fiorillo The Host of the Award Winning Motivation and Muscle Streaming Radio 24/7 Welcomes John McKean to the Broadcast.“John McKean, turning a “young” 74 this December, has been competing in all aspects of the iron game for 57 years. He’s lifted in hundreds of meets, having won National titles in Master’s age Olympic style weightlifting and powerlifting, and acquired 9 World titles in IAWA (all-round) weightlifting, currently holding 335 USAWA national all-around records. As a retired Middle school math teacher, with a Masters’s degree in Guidance & Counseling, John put to good use all the writing required in college, by “self-discovery” articles published in about every available strength journal. He was quite involved with the sport during the “golden age” of power rack training in the 1960s, and has continually trained with, researched, and written about this dynamic system ever since!”

Today's Podcast with John is Red Hot for Strength Men and Women who like to mix things up in the Power Rack. On our Power Rack Training Volume Four, show we throw in some new movements which will magnify your strength and power.

So let's get started and make some gains! The first movement we will talk about is the dead stop standing press with the isometric push. This movement was made famous by bolt upright presser Bill March. Secondly, John talks about the pressing power of Gary Gubner and Joe Dube after they discovered Bill's secret in the Power Rack. Truly big pressers overhead were the norm long before the flat bench became popular. Among the things we hit today is the book Super Strength by Alan Calvert which John recommends very highly! As John says it the only book you'll ever need.

Calvert 's favorite lift for the legs was not the squat it was the high Straddle Lift which John refers to as the 18 inches inside the Power Rack! Another point of interest here is that this lift was a favorite of John Grimek. Once again we get into the power generation of the thicker bars in this type of dead stop training and the outstanding look of power everywhere you will achieve. Wait till you hear some of the names John mentions and what they have done using thicker bars. One Strongman had to go to train axles because he was bending every thick bar he trained on. How's that for serious Power?

We finish off our Podcast Power Rack Training Volume Four with the Bent Over Row in the Power Rack with an isometric pull for time This is one of the king's strength and bulking movements which is second to none. John also throws in another super strength builder it being the one-arm row with a two-inch Olympic bar! Talk about a builder of men. We start it dead stop off the rods and move it a few inches pulling against rods set 4 inches above! Unstoppable! This is truly the best training you will ever do. Isn't it time you devote yourself to something that will truly change your life? We have the keys to your success! Keep Going!
