He’s lifted in hundreds of meets, having won National titles in Master’s age Olympic style weightlifting and powerlifting, and acquired 9 World titles in IAWA (all-round) weightlifting, currently holding 335 USAWA national all-around records. As a retired Middle school math teacher, with a Masters’s degree in Guidance & Counseling, John put to good use all the writing required in college, by  “self-discovery” articles published in about every available strength journal. He was quite involved with the sport during the “golden age” of power rack training in the 1960s, and has continually trained with, researched, and written about this dynamic system ever since!”

Welcome to another great day behind the mic speaking with such knowledgeable Physical Culturistis like John McKean! Today we celebrate Power Rack Training Volume Two. Our year-long series digs deeply into why you should be doing this Heavy Physical training and the benefits it will surely produce for you. We start right out the box with York Barbell's very own Bill March! We talk about the phenomenal numbers he achieved training within the Power Rack and the carryover he had just from the rack work alone! Bill through Power Rack Training really let his strength be known when he entered the competitive world!

The passion we have for this rugged manly work along with our ongoing experiences which we live by gives anyone listening to this podcast a leg up on a style of training which has been long forgotten but is by far the most result-producing training you'll ever practice. Anyone who has ever done Power Rack Training correctly with the pushing and pulling against another set of rods has benefitted tremendously! We know that for a fact!

Eric and John also briefly discuss our warm-up for this demanding work which is extremely important in making this program a major success. Its called Heavy Hands Walking and it was developed by Dr. Leonard Schwartz who was a very dear friend and worked together with Strongman John McKean! So John and I talk quite a bit how the conventional warm-up in weightlifting won't cut the mustard with dead stop power rack training. We address muscle contraction, taking an incredibly massive weight from the top and just breaking it off the rods and holding it for six seconds!

Eric and John can thoroughly attest to the power which most of us have within us but never tap into.  Our program will do just that for you and lots more. We describe how this powerful program begins the rewiring of your brain. I also believe it begins to create new brain cells to go along with the constant push and thought you have got to establish from within to get through your next hurdle.
