Michael is joined by the director and co-writer of "Judas and the Black Messiah" Shaka King , a long with Fred Hampton Jr., to discuss the U.S. government assassination of Black Panther Party leaders Fred Ham p ton and Mark Clark in 1969, how much (or little) progress has been made by Black Americans since then, why Fred Hampton was seen as a threat by J. Edgar Hoover, and how this provocative film about the FBI infiltrating and murdering American citizens came into existence. Later, Michael is joined by the sister of Black Panther Party Defense Captain Mark Clark, Gloria Jackson Clark, who was living with her mother in Flint, Michigan when they found out on TV that Mark Clark had been killed alongside Fred Hampton. She reflects on her brother’s life and legacy.
