Wise God, Not Wise-Guy — 1 Corinthians 1:18–2:5
Every day, we’re faced with a choice: whose voice will we listen to? The wisdom of God, or the wisdom of the world? In Corinth, believers were blending the two—and the result was a church that didn’t look much like Jesus.
In this passage, Paul dismantles worldly wisdom and shows why God’s wisdom, revealed in the cross, is the only path worth following. Through three compelling arguments, he reminds us that the wisdom of the world is incompatible with the gospel, that salvation is possible only through God’s wisdom, and that it was His wisdom—not human persuasion—that brought us to faith in the first place.
