Today’s dose of "Vitamin D" is dedicated to being grateful. Being grateful for the good and the bad. Often times we’re only grateful for the “good” that happens in our lives. However, it’s important to be grateful for the “not-so-good” as well. What do I mean?
How many times have you said, “thank you” for a gift, a job promotion or a kind gesture? Probably more times than you can count. When was the last time you said, “thank you” for someone telling you ‘no,’ breaking your heart or thanking God for a ‘failed’ opportunity? The answer? Probably NOT EVER! I am here to tell you to say, “thank you” and count it ALL joy! See every ‘setback’ you have in your life is a setup for a come-up. Those setbacks set you up for who you are today. Who you are today, right now, in this moment is all that you’ll ever be in this moment. Be grateful. You’ve gained so much wisdom and knowledge. It’s who you are. Learn to love yourself because either you can stay the same or love yourself enough to change.
Shouting at the top of my lungs, like the choir singing in Bishop Hezekiah Walker’s hit single, “Grateful,” I can say, “flowing from my heart are the issues of my heart. It’s gratefulness.” Whatever it is that you are going through. Count it all joy. Stop asking the question, “Why me?” Instead, look at yourself and say, “Why not me?” Just as things have worked in your favor in the past, be sure to shout, ‘Thank You!’ for everything that did not. What is meant to be will be. If it’s not alright, it’s not over. It ain’t over until it’s alright.
Be grateful and say it with me, “THANK YOU!”
