Today’s topic Cancel Culture gets Hot Mess hosts, Alec Mapa and Dr. Matthew Dempsey, hot and bothered, as they discuss with their guest, Netflix’ “Queer Eye” Karamo Brown, about this terrifying new phenomenon. All three guys admit to being on the ugly side of being cancelled and warn that everyone- if you dig deep enough, is at risk of being a target. This conversation gets very real – when Karamo opens up about, what he thought was, a harmless remark he made on the red carpet of “Dancing with the Stars,” and the shocking reaction on social media that followed. He admits he was shook. The backlash helped him realize it’s time to combat this type of mob aggression and help educate those inflicting cyber pain on others. Alec, Dr. Matthew and Karamo believe the way to best combat bullying is through kindness, empathy and education, but to also stand proud for what you believe in. On this beautiful, and somewhat hilarious, journey we learn why people engage in “mean girl” behavior and develop strategies and skills to kindly combat against it.
