Katie Ferrara, Singer-songwriter

Katie Ferrara is a singer-songwriter from Eagle Rock. Katie was a shy girl growing up, but she always had a desire to sing. To help draw her out of her shell, she joined the school choir, and her love for performing grew. She taught herself how to play guitar, and began writing her own songs, performing them at open mics. But when she went off to college, music took a backseat, as Katie studied psychology to prepare for the more traditional career path and future that was expected of her. But by her junior year, she realized she couldn't escape her desire to pursue a career in music, and would end up leaving the country to challenge herself in London. But when she returned to Los Angeles, she was in debt, and a career in music didn't seem to be panning out. She fell back on her psychology degree and was thinking of becoming a teacher, but all the while feeling guilt for turning her back on her music again. That's when she stumbled upon a new path. One that would allow her to share her music, and travel the world, and recapture her happiness. Katie began working as a street performer,
