Hello and welcome to The Captain’s Coach Podcast everyone. I am your host Luke Poulos and today we have an awesome guest who has spent most of his professional career around legendary icons and leaders in the professional sports world. Jon Torine was the head of strength and conditioning for the Indianapolis Colts for 14 years during which they won a Super Bowl under Tony Dungy and with Peyton Manning. Before that Jon was an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the legendary Buffalo Bills teams of the early 90’s. Today Jon is the founder of Lean In Coaching and works with Functional Movement Systems, both of which are ventures with the goal of changing the way, specifically youth and young adult sports are conducted on a fundamental level so athletes can grow into virtuous leaders and wholistic individuals. He has had some amazing relationships as I mentioned before and throughout the conversation you will hear Jon touch on those relationships and what he learned from those great examples. We also discuss at length the importance of authentic leadership and the pathway to finding what that is for each individual leader; how coaches can facilitate that and how to really start understanding yourself on a deeper level to discover your own leadership philosophy and act it out in every relationship and endeavor you have. He was awesome to have on the show and really fun to talk to with all his stories and deep understanding of leadership in sports so please enjoy the conversation with Jon Torine on The Captain’s Coach Podcast.
