"Learn In Real Time": FSU At the Halfway Mark After Clemson & 2nd Half Expectations for Jordan Travis and Mike Norvell

Welcome back to another episode of Locked on Seminoles, your favorite daily Florida State Seminoles sports podcast! Drake and Dave return to their roots, providing a much-needed support group session after Florida State drops its third straight game, this time against the top-5 Clemson Tigers, explaining why it’s okay to recognize positives while being understandably upset with the results after starting 4-0. Where do we go from here? Listen in to find out.

First, the guys take stock in where this team is at entering the bye week, contrasting FSU’s red hot 4-0 start against its three-game skid, after the Seminoles fall to Clemson 34-28.

Next, they survey the many reasons to be upset that Florida State finds itself needed to finish 4-1 to win 8 games, especially after at least two winnable games against ranked NC State and, to a lesser degree, Wake Forest. Bottom line, the Seminoles need an influx of talent to escape the “lose-small” phase, and proceed to “win-small.” Then, they offer reasons for optimism, including improved play of numerous position groups and young contributors (especially on the defense).

Finally, Drake and Dave discuss where we go from here and what we need to see this team accomplish down the stretch, as the Seminoles exit the bye week with a far easier slate of games that include bad Georgia Tech and Louisiana teams, arguably the worst Florida and Miami teams in some time, and Syracuse.
