The Clintons were particularly interested in reworking Haiti into a new Taiwan. However, their humanitarian intervention only fostered corruption and helped to kick off a deadly cholera epidemic. As Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton organized the “election” of Moise's predecessor, setting the stage for last week's assassination.
