Time for our regular Monday feature Legally Speaking. This morning we will be speaking to legal expert to talk to us about how legal representation works, this in light of legal practice act and new Legal Practice Council which will regulate all legal practitioners and juristic entities by November this year. In 2014, then President Jacob Zuma signed the Legal Practice Bill into law, which paved the way for the establishment of the Legal Practice Council. This meant that all lawyers - both advocates and attorneys - would fall under a single regulatory body for the first time. So this morning we will look at what is legal representation, how the process of lawyers representing their clients in court works, the costs affiliated with such legal representation and the work that the lawyers do during the proceedings.
