A long-time resident of Somerville, Greg Hill worked as a library technician until his retirement in 2012. Formerly a freelance photographer, he was also sole proprietor of a screen-printing shop in Cambridge.

A local activist for many years, he’s been a member of the Somerville Producers Group, Union United Coalition, Concord Ave. Community Garden, Union Square Neighborhood Council, Somerville Stands Together and Mass. Senior Action Council.

An avid amateur historian, he’s also a member of the Somerville Museum and the Mass. Historical Society.

Greg has three topics to talk about:

(1) Three Urban Inequities: Housing, Transportation, Environment

(2) 2nd Topic; P.A.N.I.C. in Cambridge (We look back at how African-American workers at Polaroid in Massachusetts helped launch the divestment movement against Apartheid South Africa in the early 1970s) and finally,

(3) Reflecting on the assassination of Dr. King, 41 years ago on this date, we will begin to unfold discussion of White Supremacy: past, present and future. How might white people working together begin to dismantle the system of White Supremacy?
