Sermon Podcast - “Elizabeth: When the Pressure Gets Messy. (Luke 1:54-69)” Christmas is a neat time of year where we experience joy, peace and generosity as we remember the birth of Jesus. But Christmas can also be a messy time of year. The roads can get messy from bad weather, our schedules can get messy with too many holiday parties and gatherings. On top of all that, our eating can get messy with the abundance of candy and sweets, and sometimes our attitudes can get messy from spending too much ‘quality time’ with our family. In the book of Luke we read stories of people who’s lives got a little ‘messy’ because of the birth of Jesus. In this sermon you will learn more about the pressures Elizabeth was facing from others concerning the name of her son. She goes against the crowd and follows God’s desires for her. May her courage give you encouragement in a situation where you feel God calling you to go against the crowd.
