The Minnesota Wild started their Kirill Kaprizov-less stretch with a 5-2 win over San Jose to start a 3 game road trip. The Wild improved to 10-0-2 in their last 12 games and despite a sloppy first period took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission on a goal from Jared Spurgeon. The Sharks answered back but Freddy Gaudreau gave the Wild a 2-1 lead. Marcus Johansson was credited with a deflected goal 30 seconds into the third period to make it 3-1. After a Sharks goal on the Power Play, the Wild finished with goals from Mats Zuccarello and Matt Boldy to cap the scoring. Marc-Andre Fleury moved to 5-0-0 in his last 5 starts and stopped 35 of 37 shots. The Wild are at Arizona tomorrow night to finish off the back to back.
