As you may already know, Virta has been in the midst of an ongoing 5-year research looking intently at the impact of a low-carb, ketogenic diet on various parts of health. In this study they conducted a non-randomized, open label study of 262 Type 2 diabetes patients with obesity to see how well they responded to a list of depressive symptom markers with their intentional use of carbohydrate restriction. It’s a fantastic study that shows yet another surprising benefit of being in a healthy state of nutritional ketosis.
