Every Friday morning, Mike Hosking takes you through the big ticket items of the week and lets you know what he makes of it all.
Here's a taste of what he reckons.
Cycleways
3/10.
"Cycleways are the scourge of the modern suburban village.
The ideological obsession that doesn’t work, isn't used and ruins businesses. What's the point?"
Extra Police Numbers
7/10.
"It was a Stuart Nash promise, and he's delivered.
And the reaction tells you from communities it's more than welcome."
Malcolm Turnbull
4/10.
"Simply took too long to see the bleeding obvious.
And Dutton's better than Turnbull but needs a miracle to survive. Mind you they said that about John Howard."
Former Black Sticks sticking up for Mark Hager
7/10.
"Thank God we have got a bit of balance.
This reeked from the start as a PC witch hunt by people that probably didn’t want to run the cross country."
Air New Zealand
8/10.
"Along with Mercury, a2, Trade Me and all the others this week that posted stellar profits, they are the heroic stories of the New Zealand economy.
And all power to them."
Cross Country being made optional
3/10.
"This is all that is wrong with education, and the angsty way we seem determined to run the world these days.
To know the joy of winning you need to experience the hurt of defeat, that's in life, as well as cross country."
