Hello everyone. Today, I am joined by Dr. Rebecca Han. She is here to tell us all about the world of acupuncture. She answers all of your questions regarding acupuncture and even tells you how you can become a certified acupuncturist as well. Don’t miss out as she shares how acupuncture can help you and your patients complete the mind-body connection. If you’d like to support the podcast, I’d so appreciate it if you head over to HippocraticHustle.com/Patreon. You can find information there about how you can support the show. My guest today, Dr. Rebecca Han, is a physician acupuncturist who began her medical career studying western medicine at St. George’s University. Inspired by the current movement to practice medicine that is both preventative and community focused, Dr. Han continued her education in the field of Traditional Asian Medicine. After earning her diploma in Acupuncture, she completed her integrative medicine training at Harvard Medical School. She is now full-time faculty at The Pacific College of Health and Science in Chicago. In this episode you will learn: How Dr. Han became interested in alternative medicine and acupuncture. What is the history of acupuncture and how does it work. Why the different styles of acupuncture vary and what they are used for. What problems acupuncture can be used to solve. What a normal visit to an acupuncturist involves and the big question: “Does it hurt?” How often do patients need to be seen by an acupuncturist. Where can physicians look for acupuncturists to refer their patients. How can physicians become trained as an acupuncturist. Which ways physicians can integrate acupuncture into their practices. How do patients pay for acupuncture and is it covered by insurance. Links we discussed in the show: Find certified acupuncturists at: NCCAOM.org. Some great programs to become a certified acupuncturist are: Acumed, Ohmatopoeia and The Helms Institute. Thank you for listening to the Hippocratic Hustle!
