Feel the heaviness of your eyes as they close,

And notice the weight of your body on your bed.

The way your neck softens and curves around your pillow,

Your chest relaxes and melts into your sheets,

Your stomach softens and eases into an easy rhythm of expanding and contracting with air.

PAUSE…

Let the muscles in your legs relax and release,

And your arms melt deeper into their comfortable position.

If there’s any tension or tightness still in your body,

Invite it to leave with every breath out. 

Breathe in and relax,

Breathe out and release. 

PAUSE…

Now listen…

PAUSE…

The trickles of running water play in the background like the notes of your favorite song.

Let the melody of the running water soothe you,

Erasing the thoughts from your mind,

And allowing you to surrender to its softness.
