Ronnie grew up as what he refers to as privileged in Israel. He is both Jewish and anti-Zionist. In May of 2022, Barkan and 6 others broke into the Elbit Systems plant in Bristol England to stage a protest. They damaged the equipment and spray painted "Free Palestine" onto the walls. He was found guilty in February and currently awaits sentencing.
