S1E7 - Mellon Head Mania

Throughout modern history there have been tales of "mad scientist" or other crazies altering and experimenting with living human specimens. Some of these have been for some twisted purpose and others just because the person doing the experiments was twisted. Could these scenarios explain what people have been encountering for the past 50 years in parts of Ohio, Michigan and Connecticut? What are these creatures that people are seeing in these woods and rural areas? Is there a simple explanation of a disease that has been around for centuries that causes the afflicted to be banished from society? That is until either the unsuspecting or the inquisitive cross paths with these afflicted individuals, resulting in scary tales of monsters or other worldly creatures.
