Episode #101 Miles Sullivan’s life changed when he was just 20 years old and started to experience feelings of vertigo and light headedness. After many doctor visits with no answers, Miles finally got an MRI only to find he had a brain tumor. Two brain surgeries later and little improvement to his daily seizures, he stubbled upon a keto influencer on Instagram, Josh Perry.  Miles started Josh’s diet and fitness program and his life completely flipped upside-down. He went 2 months without a seizure for the first time in three years and adopted a whole new perspective on life. On this episode of What The Fat, we talk about Miles’ journey, how he maintains a positive mindset, and his big goals for the future.   Enjoy the show!   Takeaways At the end of the day, whatever you’re going through could be so much worse. Miles’ remembers the day he woke up in that hospital bed after his brain surgery with all of his family and loved ones looking over him. He realized how all of the stuff that used to get him down in life doesn’t matter at all. Adopting a mindset of gratitude and positivity is key to overcoming any challenge.   Links and Resources Miles' Instagram Josh Perry's Instagram Josh Perry's Website   Show Notes 2:10 Miles' story 14:30 How Miles' discovered Keto 21:00 Turning from drugs to food 23:07 A typical day for Miles 27:36 The importance of mindset 30:17 All about sleep 32:25 Mile’s favorite Keto meal 33:27 Miles' biggest takeaway from MHS 35:51 What drive’s Miles' positive mindset 39:40 The legacy Miles wants to leave behind 44:13 Miles goals for the future 46:45 Where you can find Miles   Tweetables “I’m grateful for Mondays - I mean they were almost taken away from me twice”   “I want to make the world a better place”   “I never want to be seen as a quitter… I don’t want to let anyone down, I don’t want to let myself down”   “No one ever said it was going to be easy”   “It’s all mindset… waking up in that bed with everyone you love around you and just realizing all the little crap in life that used to get me down just doesn't matter”   “ I just went seizure free for the last 2 months after 3 years and thats thanks to fasting and keto”   “If that’s the worst of my worries, I’m lucky”   “My mom is my superhero”   “It’s so much easier to prescribe a diet than prescribe a pill”   If you like today’s episode, subscribe on Apple Podcasts at What The Fat and leave us a 5-star, positive review.
