Professor Pagels is the Harrington Spear Paine Foundation of Religion at Princeton University. She is the author of the Gnostic Gospels which won both the National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award. She was a MacArthur Fellow and was awarded a National Humanities Medal in 2015.
