On this week’s Mumbrellacast the team discuss why telcos should stick to what they’re good at, JC Decaux’s $1.1 billion bid for APN, Michelle Guthrie’s lacklustre defence of the ABC, plus we make the case for why APN Outdoor was wrong to ban Aboriginal Victoria’s Deadly Questions ads.

How the CDO became the CEO
Despite joining MediaCom as chief digital officer back in 2015, CEO Willie Pang now believes his old role shouldn’t exist.
On this week’s edition of Mumbrellacast, he tells us: “If digital leaders are doing their jobs, then there shouldn’t really need to be a role of chief digital officer going forward. I mean, what’s not digital?”
He also chats to us about copping MediaCom’s past sins, tackling the problem of transparency, and why he’s guilty of using TMA (To Many Acronyms).
