Physicians are fed up with the American Medical Association and its march leftward.  This spring, the AMA released an 86-page document called “Organizational Strategic Plan to Embed Racial Justice and Advanced Health Equity,” the culmination of a two-year effort to address “past harms” of oppression.  The document includes much of the parlance of critical race theory and, given the AMA’s power, could have huge influence on the practice of medicine.

The plan is not the first red flag from the AMA. Earlier this year, the group, which claims to be the largest professional organization of physicians, asked two editors at the Journal of the American Medical Association to leave after one stated on a podcast that the word “racism” might not be the best word for explaining disparate outcomes in health care.

Julio Gonzalez, M.D., J.D., orthopedic surgeon, attorney, former naval flight surgeon, former Florida State Representative, says the AMA has skewed so far left that many are seeking a new way to represent the interests of the nation’s one-million physicians and surgeons. For the first time, Gonzales announces “The United States Medical Association,” which aims to have its first nationwide gathering by October 2022.
