Renee McBride's childhood seemed pretty typical, until the day she learned the shocking truth about her father, that he was not away working at the Cottee's Cordial farm as she had so proudly believed but instead serving time in prison. At six years of age, Renee was suddenly faced with the reality that her daddy was a murderer. Renee's mother was a teenage runaway who became pregnant not long before he was incarcerated for the murder of two men.
