HODGEPOD with Rob Fredette

NBA Hall of Famer Bill Walton passes away at 71 and a 10 minute window of my life interacting with him. EPISODE 73

Listen Later

NBA Hall of Famer Bill Walton passed away at the  age of 71. Walton was a 3 time National Player of the Year and won 2 NCAA Championships with UCLA.

Walton was drafted as the Number 1 overall pick in 1974 by the Portland Trailblazers winning an NBA Championship in 1977.

He played for the Boston Celtics for 2 seasons and you could say he was the key piece in the Celtics winning the NBA Championship in 1986 coming off the bench to back up Robert Parish.

And my little 10 minute interaction with the NBA Hall of Famer in December 1985.

He could not have been any nicer. I will never forget that memory, even though I cannot remember what questions I asked as I was so in awe.
