Surf's up, beach lovers! As we ride into the final day of the 2024 beach forecast season, we've got some solid conditions brewing along the Jersey Shore and Delaware coastline.
Catch the wave of a moderate rip current risk today, so surfers and swimmers, stay alert and watch those tricky currents near jetties and piers. The surf's looking pretty sweet with 2 to 3 foot waves rolling in across all our coastal zones.
From Sandy Hook down to Cape May and over to Rehoboth, expect a northeast wind keeping things cool at 15 to 20 miles per hour. Water temperatures are hanging in the comfortable zone - upper 60s near Sandy Hook, mid 60s around Long Beach Island, and even warming up to lower 70s in Delaware.
The sky's going to be mostly cloudy with a slight chance of rain in some spots, particularly around Atlantic City, Ocean City, and Delaware beaches. But don't cancel those beach plans just yet - you'll still get a moderate UV index and partly sunny breaks.
Temperature-wise, we're looking at highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s - perfect for beach lounging or catching some late-season waves. Sunrise kicks off around 6:50 AM, with sunset painting the sky around 6:40 PM.
Important heads up - this is the final surf zone forecast for 2024, so make these last beach moments count! Whether you're surfing, swimming, or just soaking up the last rays of summer, stay safe and enjoy the ocean.
Catch you on the flip side, beach crew!
