Surf Report - New Jersey Shore areas

New Jersey and Delaware Surf Report for 05-29-2025

Listen Later

Alright wave riders and beach lovers, buckle up for your coastal conditions report!

The Jersey Shore and Delaware beaches are serving up a mixed bag of marine moods today. We're looking at a moderate rip current risk across all zones, so stay alert and swim smart.

Surf's running a consistent 2 to 4 feet throughout the region - perfect for intermediate surfers and paddle enthusiasts. Water temperatures are chilly, hovering in the mid to upper 50s, so you'll want that wetsuit.

Skies will be mostly cloudy with a chance of scattered showers, particularly along the southern beaches like Cape May and Delaware. UV index is cranking high, so slather on that sunscreen even with the cloud cover.

Winds are playing musical chairs today - starting northwest in the morning, then shifting to a gentle south breeze by afternoon. Expect 5 to 10 mph winds keeping things interesting but not too wild.

Temperature-wise, we're climbing into the upper 60s and lower 70s. Atlantic City and Cape May will be slightly warmer, while Sandy Hook stays a bit cooler.

Tide schedule highlights: High tides range from 9:50 AM in Belmar to 11:33 AM in Cape May. Low tides follow in the afternoon between 3:41 and 5:11 PM.

Friday looks similar but with increased shower chances. Surf will mellow out a bit, especially around Delaware beaches.

Bottom line: Pack a light jacket, bring sunscreen, and stay aware of those rip currents. Ocean's calling - enjoy responsibly!
