New Halloween Traditions (0:00:00)
Traditions are a cherished part of every holiday. For Halloween, we traditionally go trick-or-treating with our families, throw costume parties, and visit haunted houses. However, the pandemic is forcing all of us to celebrate differently in 2020. Is Halloween simply a lost cause this year, or can it be just as fun as it has been in the past? Here to help us come up with new Halloween traditions for our families is Miranda Enzor, creator of the blog Spooky Little Halloween.
You Matter to Me (0:34:28)
Maybe it’s been a significant other, your child, or a dear friend. Whoever it’s been, we’ve all had someone in our lives who for a season, or a lifetime, becomes the center of our world. Someone who’s smallest actions hold immense significance for us. This seems to be the theme that guitarist-singer-songwriter Cary Park explores on his new single “You Matter to Me”. However, we wanted to hear about it directly from Cary himself so here he is to discuss the meaning and songwriting process behind “You Matter to Me”.
Record Collecting (0:52:45)
It seems like every few years there’s a hot new way to listen to your tunes. When the iPod first came out it was the most incredible thing—but now we don’t even use those anymore! But there is one way to listen to music that has survived the test of time, and dare we say it—might not ever go out of style. Believe it or not, record collecting is still a thing people do—even in our digital age. And even with all of new gadgets, there is something special about putting a record on. Here to share her ideas with us about record collecting is former writing professor and friend of the show Kacy Faulconer.

Working through traumatic experiences is no easy task. It can be especially difficult for kids, who haven’t learned the same coping mechanisms that many adults have picked up over time. So how can parents help their children who have gone through these difficult experiences? Today, we’re joined by Dr. Sharie Stines, a recovery expert and an abusive relationship recovery coach. She’s here with us to discuss how you can be a help to your traumatized youth.

None of us want our familial relationships to turn sour just because we disagree on who to vote for or what policies our leaders should enforce in our communities. So how can we talk politics in an uplifting and respectful way? What’s the right etiquette for these conversations? Here to help us out is etiquette expert, Jacqueline Whitmore.
