Today’s guests are Jessica Taunton and Chris Bray who are a couple of adventurous Aussies who worked very hard to achieve their goal of sailing their junk rigged yacht ‘Teleport’ from Halifax, Canada through the North West passage to Nome, Alaska. I think the highlight of the trip was a very romantic marriage proposal along the way and we will hear about that in the interview.

The yacht itself has an interesting story which Chris fills us in on, as it is an Atlantic 29’ designed by Angus Primrose and Blondie Hasler. Blondie Hasler is well known for his small junk rigged yacht ‘Jester’ and I found the 2014 Jester Challenge is due to start in May 2014 and I will put a link to the Jester info website in the show notes for this episode.

Now I just quickly let you know that I am working to improve the sound quality of the podcast, including having a new microphone and changing some of the ways I edit the files with Audacity. I want to quickly thank Daniel J Lewis for his free podcast – the audacity to podcast – which has free advice about recording with audacity and you can find that at theaudacitytopodcast.com. The new microphone is the Audio-Technica ATR 2100 and there are some great prices for these at the moment on Amazon and I will pop a couple of links with information about this microphone onto the show notes for this episode.
