  • In Savoy, France, Our Lady of Pignerol or Pigneralo (Notre-Dame de Piedmont): the shrine was built in 1098 in honor of Our Lady’s Assumption, many years before the actual proclamation of the dogma.[1]
  • The morning of November 15th, 1800, on Nabeul Beach in Tunis: the finding of the wooden statue by Nicola Moretto, a slave, that would be venerated as Our Lady of the Slave (Madonna dello Schiavo) Carloforte, Carbonia-Iglesias, Sardegna, Italy. Having been captured by pirates and taken to Tunis, Moretto took this as a sign that he had not been abandoned by Our Lady.
  • In 1215, Rome, four days after the opening of the Fourth Lateran Council, Innocent III consecrates the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere.[2]
  • In the 1600’s, the finding of the statue of Nossa Senhora do Rocio, Paranaguá, Paraná, Brazil: in 1970 Nossa Senhora do Rocio was declared the patronress of the state of Paraná. The image was caught in the nets of a fisherman who was having trouble catching anything. Saying a prayer, he cast his net, and hauled in the statue. From that moment on, the fishing went well.[3]
