The premier of Ontario announced the suspension of a 25 percent tariff on electricity exports to U.S. states, just hours after President Donald Trump threatened a 50 percent tariff on Canada's aluminum and steel.

The United States and Ukraine are calling for a 30-day cease-fire, subject to the acceptance of Russia, following talks in Saudi Arabia Tuesday. The United States also agreed to lift the pause on military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine. Trump expressed hope of speaking with President Vladimir Putin this week, and that he will accept the cease-fire.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated Tuesday that the Department of State reserves the right to proceed with the deportation of pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil, after a federal judge blocked his removal.

The former president of the Philippines was arrested Tuesday at the request of the International Criminal Court over killings linked to his "war on drugs." He was placed on a flight to The Hague late Tuesday.
