U.S. strikes have targeted a Middle Eastern terrorist group backed by Iran. President Donald Trump ordered aerial strikes against the Houthis in Yemen and issued a stern warning to Iran.

The White House announced Saturday that Trump signed the stopgap spending bill passed by Congress. Lawmakers narrowly averted a government shutdown on Friday night by passing the Republican-led resolution.

Tornadoes tore through the Midwest and Southeast overnight, causing widespread destruction. At least 14 people have been killed in Arkansas and Missouri, as the storms continue into the Southeast.
