NV Energy Overcharged Customers by $65 Million: Refunds IssuedNV Energy, the utility company, has admitted to overcharging customers by more than $65 million between 2001 and 2024. Initially, the company claimed it couldnt access billing records older than seven years, but state regulators pushed for a more complete estimate. The overcharges resulted from misclassifying tens of thousands of residential customers, leading them to pay higher rates than necessary. NV Energy has started issuing refunds, with one point eight three million dollars in credits and checks last December and another three point five six million dollars in May. Additional refunds, with interest, are proposed for overcharges dating back to June 23, 2017.
