Delhi-NCR was blanketed in toxic smog after Diwali as firecracker violations pushed the Air Quality Index to a hazardous 451, with experts warning that even “green” crackers offer little relief.

In Navi Mumbai, a midnight Diwali fire at Raheja Residency in Vashi killed four, including a 6-year-old girl, and injured 10 others; the cause remains unknown. Meanwhile, RJD unveiled 143 candidates for the Bihar Assembly elections, including Tejashwi Yadav and Bhojpuri actor Khesari Lal Yadav, creating tension with ally Congress over overlapping constituencies.
