While the Blue Economy broadly speaks of sustainable use of marine resources to chart developmental pathways, no universal definition of the concept exists. Since the use of ocean resources and the way in which communities and countries engage with them is immensely varied, finding ways to understand the potential of the Blue Economy and its sustainable use is becoming increasingly critical, especially for developing countries.
