The death of Maryland Congressman Elijah Cummings is a blow to the forces in the House pushing for impeachment. But Jim Rosapepe, who served with Cummings in the state legislature, says he was much more than a voice against Donald Trump. We’ve had four debates so far in this cycle and there are at least six more to come. With that as a backdrop, Julian Zelizer of Princeton University goes over some great moments in past presidential primary debates and offers conclusions about their effect on the campaign. It was 57 years ago this week when President Kennedy told the nation that Soviet offensive missiles were in Cuba and that he was instituting a quarantine to block all ships from the USSR with weapons from ever reaching the Communist nation.  Michael Dobbs, a former Washington Post reporter who has written a fascinating book about the Cuban Missile Crisis, outlines the facts and mythology of the event that had the potential of bringing about nuclear war.
