Steele unpacks an encounter with fatphobia in psychoanalytic training, prompting questions of what bodies are permitted and which are shamed in psychoanalytic spaces. While analysis has shown a growing interest in understanding embodiment, Steele explains how subaltern bodies are still largely excluded from the conversation and literature that shapes our culture.
