“How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” Bryan Fischer here with the Life & Liberty Minute. In the time of Jesus, racial tensions between Jews and Samaritans were intense. They despised each other. But Jesus initiated a conversation with a woman of Samaria, something that shocked this woman since Jews never engaged Samaritans in ordinary conversation. Jesus paid no attention to skin color when it came to treating people right. He saw she was spiritually thirsty and lonely, just like everybody else. He was able to give her a taste of living water despite their racial and gender differences because He was more concerned about her spiritual condition than the color of her skin. Let’s each contribute today to racial reconciliation the Jesus way - by ignoring skin color and seeing the thirsty heart of the person in front of us.
