He also contrasts the evangelist’s apparent success with multitudes in Samaria with the single convert made in Gaza, insisting that it had been the Holy Spirit that led Phillip to the Ethiopian. Finally, Luke wants us to think seriously about what success means when it comes to Christian evangelism.
