In this episode I interview birth and postnatal doula Karli Smith. Karli is a mum of two, living in Melbourne. She runs her doula business Karli Smith Doula. Karli is a passionate birth worker, educated, knowledgeable and speaks so well. Karli shares her two breastfeeding journeys. We talk about oversupply and overactive letdown and how she effectively managed this with hand expressing and block feeding. We talk demand feeding and myths about milk supply, and weaning and going back to work and much, much more. Karli and I also delve into the possible reasons why the breastfeeding rates are dropping so fast from birth to 3 months. What is happening in Australian culture these days making it so hard for new mothers in that fourth trimester. You can find Karli on Instagram @karlismith.doula and www.karlismith.com
