Overview of The Creation Grounds

The Creation Grounds Podcast is a podcast in which in each episode, I interview primarily diverse actors, writers, and other people in creative industries to bring awareness to what they are doing and involved in, to deconstruct how they got to where they are, inspiration, motivation and specific actionable tools, tactics and strategies that you can apply to your own life as an artist and as a human. This includes favorite books, morning routines, exercise habits, time-management tricks, and much more.
Guests have ranged from Series Regulars on Grey's Anatomy, Grammy nominee broadway writers to up and comer's who you will know very soon.

Ed is an Unreal Authorized Instructor and CG Supervisor in movies, TV, commercials and live events, having worked for ILM, Disney and Digital Domain on Blockbusters like Jurassic World, The Lion King and Jungle Book. He is the co-founder of successful world touring group The Sancho Plan. Ed loves to use cutting edge technology to create engaging and inspiring experiences, as well as beautiful world class imagery. 
 
Jackie has been creating high-end imagery for movies, TV, commercials, music videos and live events for decades since film school. She's worked for the world's top studios such as ILM, Digital Domain, and MPC on many blockbusters including three of the top 10 grossing films of all time. Movies include: Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows II, Tron, Iron Man 3 & Jurassic World just to name a few.
They met while working on Harry Potter and are married and living their dreams while helping people from all ranges of experience (from beginner to seasoned studio executives) on the cutting edge VFX we see in entertainment today.
 
In this episode we dive into the world of VFX, the future of entertainment and how some of this technology can disrupt different industries. How actors can use Mokap from the comfort of their homes and their own personal breakthroughs.

TyLie Shider is the recipient of the 2021-22 Liberty Live Commission at Premiere Stages, a 2020-21 Playwrights' Center Jerome Fellow, and an I Am Soul Playwright Resident at the National Black Theatre. His plays include Parable of the Backyard Roots (2019 Bay Area Playwrights Festival, Finalist), Bastard, Platform States of Mind and Talk. His work has been developed by The Kennedy Center, Liberation Theatre Company, Dixon Place, La MaMa, Frank Silvera Writers' Workshop, SPACE on Ryder Farm, Harlem 9, Homebase Theatre Collective, 3:5 Creative[s], Yendor Arts, The Classical Theatre of Harlem, Luna Stage, Joust Theatre co., New York New Works Theater Festival, and The Theater Project. Awards include: Drama Desk from Delaware State University, and The Theater Project's One-Act competition 2015 Best Play and Audience Favorite. Member: Dramatist Guild of America, 2018 Playwright in residence at the Liberation Theatre Company, 2019-20 Playwrights' Center Jerome Fellow, and the 2020-21 The Civilians R&D Group. He holds a BA in journalism from Delaware State University and an MFA in playwriting from New York University.

WWI Sergeant Perry Loyd did not live to see the day he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal, but a ceremony was held Saturday at Fort Jackson to honor him. Sgt. Loyd was acknowledged for his contribution and sacrifice as a volunteer soldier during World War I.
Perry W. James IV, grandson of Sgt. Lloyd, received the medal on behalf of his family. According to information provided by Ft. Jackson, Loyd was from South Carolina and trained at Camp Jackson in 1917. He deployed as part of the 371st Infantry Regiment, 93rd Division, American Expeditionary Force and was wounded in action Sept. 29, 1918, during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive.
Loyd was discharged at the end of the war and returned to his life as a sharecropper in Sumter County. Loyd died in 1946 when he was 61-years-old. He never knew his chain of command had recommended he receive the Wounded Chevron, which later qualified him for the Purple Heart Medal.
James, who was named after his grandfather, learned about the medal that was never delivered and started the necessary steps to correct the error. Military personnel, relatives, along with friends and family from across the country, witnessed the ceremony.
 
Perry has a historical novel based on Sgt. Lloyd that is releasing this November or December.

Born in Philly, Brian Anthony Wilson (BAW) is an actor and producer known best for his role as Vernon Holley on HBO's "The Wire" he has also appeared in "The Postman", "Limitless", as well as "Law Abiding Citizen." He has done 8 out of the 10 August Wilson plays and is a phenomenal stage actor as well.
