Standing in Your Own Truth: What is your story? What is your truth? At the very core of your being, who really are you? Do you stand in solidarity with the person that you are, even with your ‘flaws’ and ‘inperfections’ or do you stand with those who make it thier mission to judge your worthiness based on such ‘flaws’ and ‘inperfections.’ Are you proud of that which is true about you even if it does not meet the status quo? Are you conformatable in this skin that you are in?

Do you look in the mirror and genuinely love the image that stares back at you, not necessarily because you beleive you are the prettiest thing that ever walked the surface of this earth or because you are in better shape than everyone else, but because you see you, with all that you come with and you love the heck out of you! You are aware of who you are and who you are not; what you have and what you do not have; but you know you are a force to be reconned with anyway. You know you are the ‘baddest’ version of yourself! You have your convictions; you know your story; and you stand firmly in them even if you are the only one standing there. You live and you own your own truth!

I can quarantee you, the feeling that comes with standing in your own truth is the most liberating feeling you will ever experience in your life.

Brene Brown said, “you either stand in your story and own it or you stand outside your story and hustle for your worthiness.”

The sad reality is that a lot of us stand outside our story and hustle for our worthiness. We have allowed ourselves to be shamed into abandoning our own truths and are living by thoughts, ideas, perceptions and truths that arent our own. In order to avoid that dreadful feeling that is shame, we constantly chase after perfection or at the very least, we chase after normalcy because that is how we can fit in --that is how we can be loved. In times of difficulties when we find ourselves completely vulnerable and in desparate need of support from others, again,we abandone our convictions, our beleives, and our truths and adopt the perceptions of those whose suopport we seek.

Elizabeth Gilbert said, “true power comes from standing in your own truth and walking your own path.”

I firmly do believe that we all have our own unique paths, and for this reason, we were all uniquely made. Our uniqueness creates for us what our truths are, and it is this uniqueness that make the world fall in love with us. No one genuinely falls inlove with another person because of the other person’s physical appearance, job or bank accounts size. A person in love, falls in love with the soul that exist in the other person. A person falls in love with what is the true essence of the other person. Your uniqueness creates your story, and your story becomes your truth which is the esence of who you are. When you begin to live and own your truth, it becomes the most beautiful thing about you.
