Maturity and common sense should keep Katie in the bright, normal world of her present life, away from the dark intrigues of the past. But she needs to know. As she takes just a few steps to find out, one ex-spy who might have the answers dies under suspicious circumstances. Another former agent is murdered. Could it be there's a list? If so, is Katie now on it? And who will be the next to go?

Not what I expected, but quite good
Our heroine's emotional life is realistic -- she's got lots of character flaws, she can't let go of a bad incident from her past, she's whiney in some ways. She's not someone you emulate to be, but she's believable b/c of her foibles. The twists and turns of the plot are well done & interesting. You might smell a rat, but finding it is a lot harder. This is my 2nd book by this author -- both books extremely different and well done.
