Ebeling recounts the history of Mises's escape from the Nazi expansion into Europe, the confiscation of his papers, and how Ebeling's later discovery of the papers in Russia led to the creation of the three volume series, "The Selected Works of Ludwig von Mises."  Additionally, Boettke and Ebeling discuss the continuing relevance of Mises's critiques of socialism and how the work of Eugen von Böhm-Bawerk shaped his thinking.
