Pollard Farms Annual Spring Bull & Female Sale

Listen Later

Welcome to another episode of the American Cattlemen Podcast and our Producer Profile. Just ahead, we have Gale McKinney, the Publisher of American Cattlemen, and Jeremy Leister, the Ranch Manager for Pollard Farms. The American Cattlemen Podcast featured an in-depth interview with Jeremy Lessinger, ranch manager of Pollard Farms, discussing the upcoming 26th annual spring bull and female sale scheduled for March 19, 2025. Pollard Farms, owned by Dr. Barry and Roxanne Pollard, has grown into a substantial Angus cattle operation since Dr. Pollard started his herd in 1992. Today, the ranch manages nearly 1,000 head of cattle spread across Kingfisher and Garfield Counties in Oklahoma, with a focus on high-quality Angus genetics. The upcoming sale will feature a diverse offering of cattle, including 75 fall bulls aged 18 to 22 months, 35 yearling Angus bulls, and 40 registered Angus females. Jeremy emphasized the ranch's commitment to producing bulls with exceptional characteristics, including strong carcass values, good feet, maternal instincts, and athletic capabilities. The bulls are carefully developed, initially grazing on rye and sand, and then slowly conditioned to ensure they are range-ready and prepared to service commercial herds. The ranch takes pride in selecting genetics that will help commercial producers increase their herd's genetic potential and create profitable daughter lines. Jeremy, who previously managed the purebred beef cattle center at Oklahoma State University, highlighted Pollard Farms' dedication to finding innovative genetics and maintaining a reputation for quality. The sale offers opportunities for both established commercial producers and newcomers to the cattle business, with options ranging from bred cows and heifers to spring pairs.  Pollard Farms continues to demonstrate its commitment to the beef industry by providing high-quality Angus genetics and supporting commercial cattle producers through their comprehensive breeding program.
