A stunning development in the civil court trial of right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who's being sued for spreading lies about the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre. A lawyer for the victims' parents revealed he now holds years of Jones's private text messages, accidentally leaked by Jones's attorneys. Millions of Americans face extreme heat today, and it could be dangerous. The heat is complicating search and rescue efforts in eastern Kentucky after the worst flooding in decades. One day after Kansas voters rejected a measure to remove abortion rights from the state's constitution, President Biden announced a new executive order to assist abortion-seekers. A bill covering other big elements in the Biden agenda could be close to getting a vote after months of negotiations. But democratic senator Krysten Sinema has not promised her support, and that could torpedo the whole plan. Flags at the capitol are flying at half-staff this morning for Indiana congresswoman Jackie Walorski . She was killed along with two staff members in a car crash yesterday. The first grain ship has left Ukraine since Russia started its war nearly six months ago. It's a crucial step in the worldwide fight against hunger. Last year, Ukraine provided 10% of all the wheat in the world but the war is still raging and there's a long way to go.
