In which we observe Elizabeth's frequent and somewhat awkward encounters with Mr. Darcy during her solitary walks, revealing subtle nuances in his behaviour and intentions, whilst a most enlightening conversation with Colonel Fitzwilliam brings to light Mr. Darcy's involvement in the affairs of others, casting a shadow upon his character in Elizabeth's reflecting mind. The resultant agitation leads her to forgo a social engagement at Rosings, under the watchful concern of the ever-punctilious Mrs. Collins.
