It may not come as news to you that smoking is very bad for your health. And in the last 50 years, smoking has become a lot less common in the United States. But, in a lot of places, lots of people still smoke. In Indiana, for example, around 20% of adults are smokers.  We're talking to Dr. Sarah Wiehe this month about smoking, the health impacts tobacco can have, and what works to curb smoking. The Healthcare Triage podcast is sponsored by Indiana University School of Medicine whose mission is to advance health in the state of Indiana and beyond by promoting innovation and excellence in education, research and patient care. IU School of Medicine is leading Indiana University's first grand challenge, the Precision Health Initiative, with bold goals to cure multiple myeloma, triple negative breast cancer and childhood sarcoma and prevent type 2 diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease.
